The dedication service went really well. Photos of the event can be viewed here. It was a great occasion, a big turnout filled the ships Merlin Hangar (which was great as the heavens opened that morning). There were welcoming soft drinks, a commendably brief service with words from Commodore Lamb and the Ship’s Captain. A buffet lunch and tours of the ship. My daughter and I were shown around by 3/0 (x) Cameron Yeo.

Luckily the weather improved and the hangar door was opened and we are able to explore above deck as well. I met Ray Bennett – Chairman and his wife. The cake was cut by Lady Messenger and the youngest crew member (who also raised the ensign).
